Dear Anglers,
Welcome
back to the 9th Annual Edison Big Snook Spring
Catch and Release!
In nine years of the Edison Big Snook we have
gone through many changes. Most frequently, we
change venues. However, it is looking like we
may have found roots, as this year we will be
returning to FishTale Marina and the Holiday Inn
on Fort Myers Beach. This will be our third year
at this location…Which ties for the old school
Shooter’s days in Downtown (where McQuagge and
the boys shined)!! And, oh yes, the trolley is
back, with the same request to not appropriate
the trolley for late night waywardness.
We do have a few changes and additions to announce
to this year’s tournament. Before we get to that,
has anyone seen Reese???? Mark Sanders and Miles
Aubrey Meredith (the Eminem Show) have been recruited
to make sure that as we approach the 10th year
of your tournament, The Edison Big Snook, we remain
the very best tournament of the year! More so,
for the 10th anniversary of the Big Snook, Joey-V
has suggested new hotel and marina…in Vegas. Only
Viacava!
Considering all things, we have moved the tournament
back to a Thursday Captain’s Meeting with fishing
on Friday and Saturday (hopefully this way Godfrey
and the Lizard can follow a pontoon boat to a
good hole on Saturday – if they get out of bed)!
Furthermore, to open the payout to more teams,
the Calcutta will pay a total of 12 places over
the weekend. Moreover, we have increased the total
money in the tournament payout.
To maintain the integrity of the Edison Big Snook,
all monies raised will be contributed to charity,
the Southwest Florida Children’s Craniofacial
Foundation. We would like to thank Offshore Performance
Specialties/ Mercury Marine and Rob Wells for
their generosity during the 2007 Edison Big Snook.
As well, all the angler’s that purchased auction
items and donated money, we thank you. Again,
Mercury Marine has contributed a motor that will
be auctioned at the 2008 Edison Big Snook. Also,
the beloved and most dedicated Marine Biologist
in the state of Florida, Alexis Trotter, and her
consigliore, Waz, will undoubtedly be hustling
us for a research project to continue her never
ending quest to preserve our cherished Snook!
We are continuing to work hard to plan what we
think will be the best Edison Big Snook yet. In
the meantime, if you have any last minute suggestions,
better ideas, really unique thoughts, any complaints,
or just can’t resist the impulse to call and “run
something by us,” go ahead and call our new Reese…Miles.

of people, nor do we make a single from the Edison
Big Snook. So, please take the time right now
